Wow, this is one of the most useful applications on the market!

Definitely going to buy a paid version

For some weird reason, I can't find it in the market anymore. Only the Placeholder version is available there...
Could you upload the apk somewhere?
And do you know if the HTC Hero fix works? If not, I'm willing to give it a try and report back.

You are right - it's now unpublished from Market because so many people with Hero or Droid leave negative comments, but this is Google's bug, not mine =(

I'm afraid it will not work on Hero at least until 2.1 update

Thanks for making it available again, though :)

Just downloaded it, let's see if there's anything cool I can do to make it run somehow. I'm running Modaco anyway, so there might be some chance to modify more stuff/code...don't know anything about Android development (just bought the Hero half a month ago or so), but maybe I'll find something in the sources.

Hm. Since you're already detecting the problematic firmware versions, a temporary solution would be a partial Wakelock. (see http://developer.android.com/reference/android/os/PowerManager.html for doc)

Pros:
- Users on Hero and Droid Eris get to use your software without having to change settings
- The user can't accidentally put the phone into sleep. Quote from the API docs: "* continue to run, irrespective of any timers and even after the user presses the power button. In all other wakelocks, the CPU will run, but the user can still put the device to sleep using the power button"

Cons:
- The app eats battery, the phone can't sleep. BUT you can mention that on the first start (instead of the "You're using the Hero, it won't work" text), and other apps like Gentle Alarm are doing that too.
- Model-specific hacks are ugly as hell.

What do you think?

Manuel, it actually acquires Partial wakelock every night - and this doesn't help on Hero. SCREEN_DIM_WAKE_LOCK helps, but phone can't live without of charger while screen is on.

Hm... I think, I newer tried it without of wakeLock... it might help a little with the battery.

Hi to all,
I would like to donate via Paypal, but there's no option for that.
Another download option would be nice too, because I can't find the apps on the Market (HTC WildFire, CM 6.1).

Thanks in advance.
